What Holidays Are Associated With Fireworks?
As every American knows, July 4th is the day we associate the most with fireworks. This tradition began along with the birth of our nation in 1776 when we declared our independence from Great Britain. But there are many other holidays in which Americans can enjoy these mesmerizing displays.
Here are just some of the occasions when we can enjoy dazzling fireworks displays:
– Memorial Day – This is a somber day for remembering members of our armed forces who have given their lives for our freedom. But as modern traditions have added backyard barbeques and family get-togethers celebrating a day off from work, fireworks and family fun have also become part of Memorial Day.
– Veteran’s Day – For similar reasons, Veteran’s Day is also a day when fireworks can be enjoyed. We use them to celebrate the service of brave men and women who have given years of their lives to protect our freedoms.
– Labor Day – This day is one of the most anticipated days of the year! Everyone has the day off so it’s time to celebrate and have fun with family and friends. This also, more often than not, includes celebrating with fireworks.
– New Year’s Eve – Last but not least is the final day of the year. We celebrate with fireworks to bid to old year goodbye and ring in the new. Fireworks on this day are our way of signaling hope for a happy future.

Christmas celebrations in Peru wouldn’t be complete without vibrant fireworks celebrations welcoming the sacred event of Christ’s birth. In Great Britain, Guy Fawkes’s attempt to blow up parliament is re-enacted with a colorful light show above the Thames River.
